My name is Raquel Wu (she/her/hers). I am from Cleveland, Ohio, and hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Syracuse University. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I am trained to view situations from a systemic perspective.
I am dedicated to supporting individuals, families, couples, and children from diverse backgrounds. My support extends to those who have endured racial, gender, and community trauma, domestic and sexual abuse, cultural identity struggles, anxiety, depression, and challenges within the LGBTQ+ community, among others. I am also committed to assisting immigrant and refugee families coping with the stress of cultural assimilation and societal adaptation.
My experience includes working with individuals and families undergoing gender transitions across all age groups. I am trained to guide families through these transitions safely for the client. I practice cultural humility to effectively engage with various cultures and their intersectionalities. My approach is client-centered, which I believe is crucial for maintaining a therapeutic relationship. Together, we will create a safe and empowering space for you to begin your healing journey.
My areas of specialization include narrative therapy, the Gottman method, trauma-focused therapy, relational therapy, play therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, structural family therapy, Bowen family therapy, and contextual family therapy.
