Medication Management at New Insights

At New Insights Behavioral Health Services, we understand that mental wellness is unique to every individual. For some people, therapy alone provides the support they need, while others may benefit from combining therapy with medication management.

Our medication management services are designed to help you determine the treatment approach that best fits your goals and needs.

Our provider works collaboratively with you to evaluate your symptoms, discuss treatment options, prescribe medications when appropriate, and monitor your progress over time.

WHAT IS MEDICATION MANAGEMENT?

Medication management is an ongoing process that helps ensure your psychiatric medications are:

  • Appropriate for your symptoms and diagnosis
  • Safe and effective
  • Adjusted as your needs change
  • Working alongside therapy and other treatment approaches

During your appointments, your provider may:

  • Review your mental health history
  • Discuss your current symptoms and concerns
  • Evaluate previous medications you've tried
  • Prescribe new medications when appropriate
  • Adjust dosages or change medications if needed
  • Monitor for effectiveness and potential side effects
  • Answer questions about your treatment plan

Medication management is a collaborative process. Our goal is to help you make informed decisions while finding the treatment plan that works best for you.

Appointment Information

Initial Intake Appointment

Your first medication management appointment is a comprehensive evaluation that lasts 60 minutes.

During this visit, your provider will:

  • Review your medical and mental health history
  • Discuss your current symptoms
  • Review current and previous medications
  • Develop an individualized treatment plan
  • Determine whether medication is appropriate

Follow-Up Appointments

After your initial evaluation, follow-up appointments are 30 minutes.

These visits allow your provider to:

  • Monitor your progress
  • Discuss how your medication is working
  • Address any concerns or side effects
  • Make adjustments to your treatment plan if necessary

Regular follow-up appointments help ensure you receive safe, effective, and personalized care.

Insurance Verification

To help make your first appointment as smooth as possible, insurance must be verified before your intake appointment can be scheduled.

Our administrative team will verify your insurance benefits prior to your initial visit. This helps us:

  • Confirm eligibility
  • Verify behavioral health benefits
  • Review coverage information
  • Inform you of any estimated out-of-pocket costs, if applicable

Please note that insurance verification does not guarantee payment, as final coverage is determined by your insurance carrier after claims are processed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be in therapy to receive medication management?

While therapy and medication often work well together, medication management may be appropriate whether or not you are currently participating in therapy. Your provider will discuss recommendations based on your individual needs.

Will I receive medication during my first appointment?

Not every intake results in a prescription. Your provider will conduct a thorough evaluation before determining whether medication is appropriate.

How often are follow-up appointments?

The frequency of follow-up visits depends on your treatment plan, how you're responding to medication, and your provider's clinical recommendations.

Can my medication be adjusted later?

Yes. Medication management is an ongoing process. If your symptoms change or you're experiencing side effects, your provider may recommend adjustments during follow-up appointments.
