ABOUT DR. MELANIE JAMBROSIC

Dr. Melanie Jambrosic is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in clinical sports psychology. Born in Toronto, Canada, and having spent half of her life in California, she obtained her Master's and Doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology (formerly Argosy University). She also holds a Master's degree in sport and exercise psychology from California State University, Long Beach, achieving a 4.0 GPA. A member of various Psychology Associations in the U.S., Dr. Melanie also possesses certificates in Mindfulness and the Science of Well-Being.


Growing up as an athlete, Dr. Melanie used sports to cope with stress and connect with her family. She recognized the significant impact of psychological factors on sports performance and well-being. With her expertise in both sport and clinical psychology, she offers a comprehensive perspective on athletes and performers. Her dissertation, "Examining the Relationship Between Collegiate and Professional Athletes' Motivation Types and Clinical Symptoms," highlights her focus area.


Prior to her role at New Insights Behavioral Health Services, Dr. Melanie provided therapy and neuropsychological assessment services for individuals, couples, groups, and families across various functional levels and settings. She employs a trauma-informed approach, blending numerous evidence-based theories, such as Psychodynamic, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Attachment Theory, to meet her clients' unique needs. Dr. Melanie specializes in treating trauma, abuse, bullying, loss, anxiety, mood disorders, depression, life transitions, self-esteem issues, relationship challenges, parental dynamics for children and teens, work-related stress, ADHD, and performance motivation.
